How to use Watermark PDF — step by step
Upload the PDF
Drop your PDF. The first page renders as a live preview canvas where you can position the watermark.
Set text, size, opacity, and rotation
Type your watermark text in the field. Adjust font size (10–120px), opacity (10–100%), and rotation angle (0–360°) using the sliders.
Position and apply
Click or drag on the preview canvas to set the exact X/Y position. Click Process File to apply that watermark to every page.
Tips for best results
45° rotation with 30–40% opacity is the classic "diagonal watermark" look — visible but not obscuring content.
For a corner stamp rather than a diagonal overlay, set rotation to 0° and position the text in the bottom-right corner (X: 75%, Y: 10%).
High opacity (80–100%) at 0° rotation with a large font produces a bold stamp effect — useful for "CONFIDENTIAL" notices.
Test the output on page 2 or 3 before finalising — the live preview only shows page 1, and layout variations on other pages may cause the text to overlap important content.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the watermark permanent and removable by the recipient?
The watermark is baked into the PDF as a content layer, which makes it persistent through normal viewing. A skilled user with a full PDF editor can attempt to remove it, but casual removal is not possible in standard PDF readers.
Can I watermark different pages with different text?
Not in this tool — the same watermark is applied uniformly to all pages. For per-page watermarks, split the PDF by page, apply different watermarks to each export, then merge the results.
Does watermarking preserve interactive form fields?
Yes. Form fields remain interactive after watermarking. The watermark appears behind form field content, meaning field input text is still visible above the watermark.
Can I watermark with a logo or image instead of text?
This tool supports text watermarks only. Image watermarking (logo overlay) is not currently available.
Will the file size increase after adding a watermark?
Slightly. Text watermarks add minimal data to each page — typically 5–15% file size increase depending on page count. The visual layer itself is very lightweight.
