Scanned documents frequently arrive sideways or upside-down, making them painful to read and unprofessional to share. Our rotate tool corrects the orientation of every page in a PDF in seconds — 90° clockwise, 90° counter-clockwise, or 180° — and returns a properly oriented file.

When rotation fixes a real problem

Mobile phone scans are the most common culprit — Android and iPhone cameras sometimes misread the orientation sensor and save landscape pages as portrait PDFs. Bank statements, IC copies, and utility bills scanned this way are unreadable when submitted to LHDN or bank officers. Similarly, PDFs generated from spreadsheets in landscape mode appear sideways when opened on a recipient's device if their PDF reader does not honour orientation metadata. Rotating corrects the file itself, not just how it looks on screen, so the fix is permanent.

Common Use Cases

Fixing Mobile Phone Scans

Android and iPhone cameras frequently save documents sideways due to orientation sensor misreads. Rotating corrects NRIC copies, utility bills, and receipts before LHDN or bank portal submissions.

Landscape Financial Reports

PDF reports exported from SQL Accounting or QuickBooks in landscape mode appear sideways on mobile PDF readers. Rotating ensures the report displays correctly on every device and screen.

Correcting Upside-Down Scans

Physical contracts fed face-down into a flatbed scanner produce upside-down PDFs. A 180-degree rotation corrects the entire document instantly without the need to rescan every page.

Presentation-Ready Technical Drawings

Engineers inserting PDF site drawings into PowerPoint or Google Slides need pages in a specific reading orientation. Rotating before conversion ensures drawings display correctly in the final slide deck.

How to use Rotate PDF — step by step

1

Upload the PDF

Drag and drop the sideways PDF. The tool applies the selected rotation to every page uniformly.

2

Select the rotation angle

Click 90° Clockwise, 90° Counter-clockwise, or 180° using the direction tiles. A live preview card illustrates the result.

3

Download the corrected PDF

Processing takes a few seconds. The output file has all pages at the chosen orientation, ready to view and share.

Tips for best results

If different pages are rotated in different directions, you cannot fix them in a single pass — split the PDF first, rotate each section, then merge.

90° CW fixes a document that appears to lean to the left when you turn your head right.

The 180° option is specifically for upside-down scans — common when feeding paper face-down into a flatbed scanner.

Check all pages of the output, not just the first — multi-page scans occasionally have inconsistent orientations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will rotating the PDF affect embedded text or copy-pasting?

No. Text layer data is not altered — only the visual orientation of each page changes. You can still select and copy text normally after rotation.

Can I rotate only specific pages instead of all pages?

This tool rotates all pages uniformly. For selective page rotation, split the PDF by page, rotate the individual pages you need, then merge them back in order.

My PDF looks correct in my reader but is sideways when I share it — why?

Some PDF readers apply rotation metadata visually without actually rotating the file. Recipients using other readers see the raw unrotated version. Running it through this tool bakes the rotation into the file itself, fixing it for everyone.

Does rotation compress or degrade image quality?

No. Rotation in PDF is a geometric operation — it does not re-encode images. File size and image quality remain identical to the source.

Can I rotate a PDF that has a password?

No. Remove the password first using the Unlock PDF tool, then rotate the unlocked file.
