Tips for best results
Maybank, CIMB, and Public Bank PDF bank statements are often protected with your NRIC number (e.g., 990101015555). Check the accompanying email or SMS for the password hint.
EPF statements protected by your EPF member number format — try just the numeric portion without dashes.
If the PDF was protected by an employer, the password is often the employee ID, IC number, or date of birth in DDMMYYYY format.
If you do not know the password, this tool cannot help — it is not a password cracker. Contact the document issuer for the password.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can this tool crack a PDF password I do not know?
No. The tool requires you to supply the correct existing password. This is intentional — bypassing passwords without authorisation is illegal under computer misuse laws in both Malaysia and Pakistan. Only use this tool on files you own or are explicitly authorised to unlock.
What happens after unlocking — is the file permanently decrypted?
Yes. The output PDF has all encryption stripped. Anyone who receives the unlocked file can open it without a password. Re-protect it using our Protect PDF tool if you want to apply a new password.
Does unlocking remove edit restrictions too?
This tool removes the open-access password (the one that prevents viewing). If the PDF has separate restriction settings (blocking editing or printing) without an open password, those are outside the scope of this tool.
Will the document content be affected?
No. Formatting, images, fonts, bookmarks, and interactive elements are entirely unaffected. Only the encryption wrapper is removed.
Why does the tool fail even though I entered the correct password?
This can happen with very old or non-standard PDF encryption algorithms. Some early-era 40-bit RC4 encrypted PDFs behave unexpectedly. Try opening and re-saving the file in Adobe Acrobat or a full PDF editor first, then upload the re-saved version.
